Information in Relation to Abuse of a person with disabilities or an Older PersonAlways Here2023-12-18T14:55:22+00:00

There is a considerable body of evidence that shows that violence and abuse are serious problems for persons with disabilities. It is also a reality that some older people suffer abuse and the risk of abuse increases as people become more dependent or their health deteriorates.

HSE Safeguarding and Protection Teams are in place all over the country, to take reports of abuse and to provide help.

For information in relation to abuse of an Adult who is Vulnerable go to The HSE Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Website or contact The National Advocacy Service for People with Disabilities at The National Advocacy Service website.

For information in relation to Elder Abuse go to  HSE Protect Yourself from Elder Abuse Booklet or contact The Senior Helpline on Freephone 1800 80 45 91 or at The Senior Helpline website.
